Someone pointed out earlier that focus st are going cheap, and yeah, listed locally at 18300. My trade in says 14000 max on kbb, so I’m looking at 6k out of pocket. So, convince me. My previous cars were an 2005 Cooper D which I adoreD, and a 2011 GTI with dsg, which I did not. The vw was too fast to enjoy on an everyday basis. Maybe it was the dsg, but hit the gas, hit a button, and you’re in excess of safe speeds without any enjoyment. I have a slow as balls new civic with the non turbo engine. I can actually rev it out and shift a few times without getting into trouble. Is the ST enjoyable around town? Is it reliable? Problems?

Thanks!

Wait, you had a Cooper D in the US? How did you get one of those?

That will do it. I thought the capitol D at the end of adoreD was some kind of pun.

Can’t speak to reliability, but it’s less refined (in a fun way) than the GTi. You can whip the tail out on command.
